Global Literacies: Making your own country
report by Ruby Davies
In Global Literacies we are making our own country. Not a prissy little country where sky's rain jellybeans, rivers run chocolate milk and the ground is made of cookies! We are making our own legitimate country (that doesn't really exist) so I guess it isn't legitimate but it ain't a two year olds dream!!
These are the steps that were taken to make my marvellous country - Island.Island - see attached pdf for images:
- Chose a time period to make the country in (1330-1350)
- Pinpoint the location that you want the country to be in and write the longitude and latitude, the climate, the time zone, etc. (Image 10)
- Make a timeline about the events that happened during the country's rain (very short). (Image 1)
- Make a map of the country up close. (Image 2)
- Make a creational story for the country. (Image 3)
- Make flag for the country. (Image 4)
- Make two primary sources. (Image 5)
- Make one secondary source. (Image 6)
- Make a currency for the country. (Image 7)
- Make a name for that country (very important). (Image 8)
- Create a narrative that is based around a certain event in your timeline. (Image 9)
- Create a persuasive speech that makes people want to come to your country.
