BOOKWEEK PARADE & AUTHOR VISIT

The Bookweek Parade was fantastic with many of the boys in wonderful costumes.  It was a very joyous occasion which I really enjoyed.  Thankyou to all the parents for their support and to Mrs Martin for organising the parade.

Thankyou to Mrs Keighery for organising the author visit by Tristan Bancks, who  I was told was very interesting and funny.  Please click on the photo gallery (left) to see a selection of photos taken on the day.

IPSHA ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Well done to all the boys who competed in the IPSHA Athletics Team. Special congratulations to Joel Austen who was the fastest boy in the 100m and Zac Flynn who was the fastest in the 200m.  Zac made the IPSHA Team for the CIS Carnival in both the 100m and 200m events.  This is an impressive effort when you are up against over 100 of  the best runners from numerous schools.

Congratulations also go to Sam Holm who got through to the IPSHA Team in shot put and discus.

FATHERS' DAY ACTIVITIES

*FATHER, GRANDFATHER & SON SPORTING AFTERNOON

This Thursday 1st September we have the Father, Grandfather & Son Sporting Afternoon at Oxford Falls.  I hope to see you from 11.45am onwards.  Thankyou in advance to the band of mothers who have offered to cook for the hungry mob.  Now gentlemen, start stretching and make sure you have ice in the fridge.  Good luck.  Please remember that this is a valuable bonding experience but not the Olympics and the boys are considerably smaller, so it is important to curb your enthusiasm somewhat!

*P&F FATHERS' DAY BREAKFAST

This takes place at the College on Friday 2nd September.  Please see the P&F section and make sure you book by today, 31st August.

And on Sunday, may your toast be warm and your tea be hot!  Enjoy your day.

TWILIGHT CONCERT - THIS FRIDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER

Best wishes to all the boys performing on this evening - it is always an enjoyable concert.  Please pray for good weather.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The boys will be having REACH sessions next week which might make good dinner table conversation.

Next Wednesday is a Market Day which Year 9 organise.  There are no lunch orders on this day as the boys often enjoy buying food from the market stalls.

Father and Son Sports Day: On Thursday 1st September we will hold our annual Father and Son Sports Day at Oxford Falls. Students require normal PE clothes and will be active irrespective of their father’s participation.  For planning and catering purposes, please return reply slips (emailed last week and also in Woodchatta Extras) indicating your intention to attend and in what capacity. Thanks in advance to the mums who have volunteered to assist with feeding such a large, ravenous horde.

Athletics: Congratulations to the entire team who performed admirably at the IPSHA Carnival on Monday. Joel Austin ran superbly to win the U11 100m sprint in 14.24 sec and progresses to CIS as the fastest qualifier. He is joined by Zachary Flynn who progresses for the U11 100m (14.39) and also for the 200m after producing a lightning run, placing first overall in 28.5 sec.
