“Probably the most life changing experience for me through all those years has been the personal journey into the ‘sacred territory’ on the edge of society – where all of us spend some time in our lives and some people spend all of their lives.

“That territory – the edges of society – is a place of pain and loneliness, of rejection and exploitation, of darkness and violence. But it is also, so often, a place of honesty, faithfulness, forgiveness and peace.

“It is truly sacred territory and above all it was and is where Jesus based His ministry.”

Dear God

In our quest for you,

in our desire to be found and transformed by you,

may we not by-pass the margins of society.

Rather, may we find you there

 and be touched by your love and compassion

 in so far as we enter into the world of brokenness, disadvantage, alienation and pain – with faith.
