Duke of Edinburgh

This semester, our class of Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh students have taken great strides towards the completion of their Bronze Awards.

In recent weeks, students have completed their final volunteering session with the Pinkerton Landcare and Environment Group, and have had their visions of the future submitted into a time capsule at the Pinkerton site. The work completed by our students over the whole year has not gone unnoticed, and has allowed for the development of relations with various community groups in the Melton area.

Together with this, students have also completed the 25km Surf Coast Walk from Bells Beach to Aireys Inlet as part of their recent overnight camp. This was a challenging hike, in hot conditions, and also introduced students to camping outdoors, with students preparing their own food, and sleeping in tents. The completion of the hike is a fantastic achievement, and an experience that will long live in the students memories.
