2. Melton def The Grange 20/18, 20/17
3. Melton def Carranballac College 20/16, 20/22, 15/11
4. REGION FINAL - Melton lost to Braybrook 18/20, 12/20 (we actually led 18-12 and serving in the first set but folded.
This was a fabulous effort by the team in a very close competition.
WESTERN REGION BASKETBALL -YR 8 GIRLS - RESULTS
1. Def Brookside College 33-25
2. Lost to Good News Lutheran College 26-43
3. Lost to Strathmore
The girls tried hard but were outplayed by a couple of very good teams. It was hard for them with 2 girls withdrawing from the team 2 days beforehand. We found two Yr 7 volunteers to cover them so we had a couple of subs, then 2 others missed the bus on the day - so pretty hard on the girls who played and gave their all.
Year 7 Team
Back row – Achan, Brodie, Nelly, Ella, Chloe, Mikayla
Front row – Dylan (coach) Nicole.
Year 8 Team Back row - Maddy, Margret and Zoe Front Row – Dylan (coach) Ataahua, Trinity and Eva
WESTERN REGION BASKETBALL -YR 7 GIRLS - RESULTS
A wonderful effort by our girls. Really proud of their efforts and the way they played all the games.
Melton def Southern Cross Grammar 36-9, def Hoppers Crossing 41-29 and def Strathmore 40-14 to make the final.
Region Final – Maribyrnong 33 def Melton 14 – a fabulous, high intensity, physical game – Maribyrnong were made to really earn this win and we forced them to play their best team for most of the game. They had too much height and depth, but our girls gave them a ripper game. The scores do not indicate how good this game was.
Team was – (back) Achan, Brodie, Nelly, Ella, Mikayla, Chloe, Mikayla and (front) coach Dylan and Nicole.
