Country Cup Rugby League

The Kildare 15 Years Rugby league team recently travelled to Cootamundra to take part in the Country Cup Southern NSW final. In our first game we played Red Bend from Forbes and after a slow start we were down 12 to 0. A much better effort in the second half saw us win 14 to 12. In our second game we played Warilla High School from the South Coast region and the boys had plenty to play for with a spot in the State Final up for grabs for the winner. We began well and lead 4 to 0. Slowly the Warilla team began to get on top and they started to dominate play with their game-play and greater enthusiasm. In the end the Kildare boys never stopped trying but on the day they were beaten by a better team 18 to 4. A big thank you to all the boys for their efforts over the last couple of months and to the parents who travelled to support this team. Also thank you to Mr McNamara for his assistance along the way.
