Principal's Report

Thank you again for another wonderful week of learning!

We don’t have an update from the Department concerning students returning to school, except to say that there is due to be an update from the State Government on Monday 11th May.  As has been the case throughout this crisis, the media reports the advice before we are formally informed through the Department.  We will inform parents of the implications and plans relevant to our community as soon as we are able.

As we work our way through what is the most significant health crisis our community has had to manage in about 100 years, we thank you for your patience and willingness to adapt.

From the feedback I am receiving students are enjoying the change made to the Webex Meetings introducing small group meetings to complement the whole-class meeting structure.

Just a reminder If parents would like a conversation with the teacher, please email the teacher and they will contact you directly by phone.

We thank you for your patience and engagement with your child's online learning.

Again thank you for your support, we appreciate that you are juggling many balls each day.  Please be kind to yourself and remember that your physical health, mental health, and relationships are paramount.

Building Renovations

Wow! The exciting renovations that were started over the school holidays have now been completed and will make such a positive difference to the learning environment for the students on their return to school.

  • New bag hooks and corridor widening completed in Block A.
  • Entrance to Block B completed, carpet tiles replace the lino. Some of the old lino was used to patch an area in the OSHC room.
  • New display boards have been allocated and attached in classrooms and the Block B corridor.

Donations

We have received two generous donations recently from families who have asked to stay anonymous.  Firstly a camera and tripod which was specifically linked to making the teachers' job of filming themselves for lessons easier and of a clearer quality. Secondly, a monetary donation again to show the family’s appreciation of the school.

Mother's Day

Finally, I would like to send special Mother’s Day wishes to all our wonderful Syndal South mums and grandmothers for their special day on Sunday.

Stay safe.
