Prayer for Year 12 

Prayer for Persistence:  As our Year 12 students continue with their Trial HSC examinations and the holidays seem a distant memory, we take this time to reflect upon the need for perseverance and persistence in our daily lives.

A Reflection

Persistence is the quality to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult. Anything that is good and anything that is worthwhile takes persistence to achieve.  Working through your trials, challenges, and struggles in life takes persistence. Many times what we see as suffering or a struggle in life is just a small step towards something great that God has planned for us that we cannot even conceive. Many times, we pray for certain things we need, or things we want to make our lives better, yet often we feel God does not listen. Many times we feel these prayers go unanswered. This is when we need to be persistent, just as Christ had instructed when he “tells the disciples a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.”

Let us pray….

Lord I pray that You would direct my heart to see more and more of Your love towards me and of Christ’s gracious persistence – as He lived a perfect life, in order that He could be made the sinless sacrifice, to pay the price for my sins. Thank You, that despite the times when I have not listened to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit in my life, and have selected the wrong action of my own choosing ... to learn the lesson that you would teach me – that You have always been there to pick me up. Thank You for Your gracious patience towards me when I have doubted Your Word or grumbled about my lot in life and thank You Father, for remaining faithful towards me.

Prayers requested:  Please keep Mr Allen Leonard Brierley in your prayers.  Mr Brierley is Mrs Ann Brady's father and he passed way last Friday aged 101.  A full and generous life.  May perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace.

Semester 1 2019 Academic Awards Assembly

Last Friday's Academic Awards Ceremony entitled "A Celebration of Learning" was outstanding and I thank our special guest, Dr Steve Williams, who works in the ProCan laboratory at the Children’s Medical Research Institute.  I include below my speech from the day.

Seeking Board Members for St Pius X College Chatswood

St Pius X College Chatswood is a strong faith-filled educational community with a proud tradition of 82 years of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition.  

The Board of St Pius X College Chatswood is seeking people who are willing to take up an appointment to the College Board in the future. People interested will have a commitment to the Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition.

An information evening will be held on Tuesday 17 September 2019 at 7.00pm in the College Boardroom.  Anyone interested in attending to learn more is invited to register by phoning Christine Jennings on 9411 4733 or emailing on admin@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au  Att: Christine Jennings.

On receiving your response, further material will be provided to you to prepare for the meeting.

Football Success for two Year 12 students

St Pius X College has just received  the exciting news that its star forward, Jack Berte, has been picked for the Australian Schools Opens side to tour the UK & Ireland in January.  

There is more wonderful news for SPX football as another Year 12 Student Lucas Rainbird made his NPL First Grade debut last weekend.

Year 7 Ski Trip

Stunning blue skies welcomed the Year 7 cohort to Perisher Blue Cow on Tuesday and spirits were high. The boys are outstanding, creating a wealth of new memories to look back on.
