12C - AROUND THE TRAPS

Literacy

This week we have started a writing unit on fairytales. We have been exploring the elements of these tales, heroes and villains and magic.  Trying to understand that the purposes texts serve to shape their structure in predictable ways. We are working towards creating short imaginative texts that show emerging use of appropriate text structure, sentence-level grammar, word choice, spelling and punctuation.

 Maths

This week the Maths focus is subtraction, exploring the connection between addition and subtraction solving simple addition and subtraction problems using a range of efficient mental and written strategies. 

Religion (RE) 

This week we are celebrating the wonder and beauty of God’s presence in people and the world around us. We have also been looking at the Sacraments specifically the sacraments of initiation, Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. 

Inquiry

Our new Inquiry Unit is called Through Generations where students will focus on History and Interpersonal skills.  We will use knowledge about what has changed and what has stayed the same to prepare for the future.
