Senior School Learning

Year 3 and 4

3/4s have been focusing on Respect in Personal Learning. We have discussed how students show respect in and outside of the classroom, to our peers and to teachers. 3/4s designed posters showing how they are respectful at Teesdale Primary School.

Year 5 and 6

In maths this past week, student have been conducting investigations about reaction times, linking to using decimals in a meaningful way. We created our own investigation questions such as, 'Do teachers have a faster reaction time than students at Teesdale Primary School?', 'Do netballers or footballers have a faster reaction time?' and 'Who has a faster reaction time out of gamers or musicians?'. We used a special app to collect reaction time data, then considered how to display this data best. Students graphed the data in different ways and found some generalisations. Based on their data, we discovered that teachers do in fact have faster reaction times than students - ha!
