Meet our New Staff

We would like to introduce our newest staff members and extend a very warm welcome to those members of staff who have recently joined our team.

Leonie Blackwell

English/EAL/Humanities Teacher

I am excited to be joining the fantastic teaching team here at Box Hill High School as an English, EAL and Humanities teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in History and French and have recently completed my Masters of Teaching, both from Monash University. Outside of school I am also a synchronised swimming coach, which I started doing over 10 years ago. My other interests include sewing, yoga, theatre, foreign films, and travelling, particularly going to new countries and learning as much as I can about their history!

Bowen Guan

Mental Health Practitioner

It’s Bowen here! I’m thrilled to join the BHHS student wellbeing team as the new Mental Health Practitioner!

I worked in a similar role at Buckley Park College and prior to that I was a part of the student wellbeing team at Brentwood Secondary College. I’m a professionally trained social worker who came into the field with the objective of becoming the person that I needed while growing up. It’s my pleasure to be at BHHS and serving our community!

I do find BHHS has a lot of stairs… and our wellbeing hub is on the third level, so I guess I will be fit in no time! I’m looking forward to meeting each of you! And please don’t judge me if you see me taking a break in between traversing levels to catch my breath….

Jacqueline Wong

Music Teacher

My name is Miss Jacqueline Wong, and I am the new Music teacher while Ms. De Blasio takes leave to add to her family! I, personally, am a devoted cat mother to an only fur child: Boston.

My main instruments are saxophone and voice, but I am confident with finding my way around many instruments (except double reeds!). I grew up in Geelong, attended Matthew Flinders Secondary College and was part of the band “Sweethearts”, which I was extremely lucky to play music festivals in Italy and Switzerland.

The Music teachers who were part of my education were pivotal in the development of my identity both as a musician and as an individual; I wanted to be just like them. Completing my Bachelor just down the road at Box Hill TAFE, then my Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Melbourne University, I have been able to realise this aspiration, and now bring my passion for music education to Box Hill High School.

Please say hello if you see me around the school, just look for the green hair!

Lisa Xie

Science Teacher

Hey everyone, my name is Lisa. I'm very excited to join the Box Hill High School community as a graduate teacher.

Since my graduation from University of Melbourne last year, I have worked as a Science/Math's teacher at Glen Waverley Secondary College. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the campus!

Louise Roncon

Administration Support Officer

Hi, my name is Louise and I'm the new admin support officer, assisting the education support team and Principal Class Officers team.

You can find me in the main office of the school; I'm the one that's usually all rugged up, with my coat and scarf on, toting a large cup of tea!!
