Happy Easter
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
- Romans 5:9
The presence of Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies and hot cross buns have been heralding the approach of Easter for a few months now. As somebody who is incredibly pleased to have the Mocha Chocolate Hot Cross Bun available for a whole two months, I am aware that this emersion in the consumerism of Easter does interesting things to the way we see and experience Easter.
I wonder if as we enjoy the blessings of this abundance, we forget that there is no redemption through chocolate. I encouraged the students this week at our Easter Assembly as they reflect on the Easter sorry to ask themselves the following three questions:
- Why did Jesus do this incredible thing?
- What does this mean for them?
- How should they respond?
Reflecting on the shed blood of Jesus can and should make us uncomfortable. It is much nicer and certainly easier to focus on sweeter things—like chocolate eggs and rabbits. But the sacrifice Christ made for us that day so long ago is the only thing that could restore our relationship and bring us peace with God. There is no redemption through chocolate.
As you gather with family and friends this Easter, I sincerely hope that you have a tremendous time of fun and fellowship. I also hope that you will make time to reflect on what Jesus did when he became “the Lamb of God” (John 1:29) through whose death we have life.
By Jesus' shed blood we are set free and are once again able to be in a right relationship with Him!
Blessings,
Mr Andrew Manning, Principal

My Christian School Website
Bayside Christian College values the genuine faith of its staff. However, the Australian Law Reform Commission has released a consultation paper which would prevent schools like ours from choosing staff for their active lived faith.
My Christian Schools website has been launched in association with the Australian Association of Christian Schools because it's time they heard from some actual parents—like you!
If you value the contribution of Christian staff and teachers, this is your opportunity to have your voice heard. Please send a message to your MP about the difference Christian teachers and staff make in our school.
Free Dress Day
Today was a free dress day across the College. Students raised donations which will go to supporting Monash Children's Health.
Staff Update
Mr Chris Elkington will be replaced by Mr Russell Svigos teaching Year 7 and 8 Performing Arts. Mr Elkington will continue to teach Year 9/10 Performing Arts and Year 8 Study Skills, which he will share with Mr Svigos for term two.
Blessings,
Mrs Toni Steinbergs, DeputyPrincipal
Farewell to Exchange Students
This week we sadly said goodbye to our three Japanese exchange students Sakura, Minae and Mizuki. It was an absolute pleasure having them visit our College and become members of our community over the past few months.
We would like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude to our host families the Bixlers, Sharps and Potts/Robinsons. THANK YOU!
Community Market
Thank you so much to everyone who helped bring together such a beautiful celebration for the Bayside family. This was a sensational start to the year of markets and the VCE VM stalls were able to send $600 to Compassion to sponsor both Krisna and Anton.
Mr Ken Berry, VM TSC Coordinator
School Photos
A very big thank you to Hilary Mahoney for coordinating school photos for another year. This is a huge task to take on. School photos will be delivered early Term 2.
