Space School Scholarship opportunity

As a participant in CASE Space School 2024, Mentone Girls Secondary College can nominate a student to be considered for an Australian student scholarship to CASE International Study Programs in 2024. 

 

The scholarship is for attendance at either Junior or Senior Space School in the USA in December 2024.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration of a CASE Scholarship, student candidates must:

  • Be nominated by their School Principal;
  • Have a keen interest in STEAM subjects and be committed to their studies;
  • Demonstrate social- and environmental consciousness;
  • Be otherwise unable to afford the cost of the study program;
  • Complete a submission to CASE addressing the question on the application form; and
  • Be prepared to record and submit a journal of their experiences at CASE Space School.

Selection Criteria

Successful students will be selected based on their answer to the submission questions, demonstrating their: 

  • Understanding of the diverse impact of space exploration to life on Earth
  • Personal interest in space
  • Ideas/plans/goals around interacting with space exploration to create positive outcomes

Nomination Process

MGSC students who wish to apply are required to complete this form prior to Friday 9th June 2023. Nominations will be shortlisted internally and the College Principal, Linda Brown, will select the student who will be nominated by MGSC for the 2024 CASE International Study Program Scholarship. This student will then prepare an application to CASE.
