SPORTS UPDATE

What a great start to term 3, it has been on the sporting field for our student representatives. A quick update as we’ve had 7 students represent themselves and the school at a state level. I would also like to give a big shout out to the parents of our state representatives, there is no staff representation at these events so without you our students wouldn’t get the chance to compete at this level, so thank you very much and I hope the kids thank you as well!!

Over the last weeks we saw three of our students represent Victoria at the U/15 national football championships in Ballarat. A massive opportunity for you and we have been intently following your results across the carnival. Congratulations to Ben (U/15 Boys Victoria Navy team), Alice (U/15 Girls Victoria Navy Team) and Jasmine (U/15 Girls Victoria White team). Well done to you all, we look forward to hearing more about everything we have been reading about!

The state cross country championships were also held at the start of the term. We had four runners at this event who won their way through after being successful at both district and regionals. A big congratulations to our four representatives who finished as followed:

Rufus: U/13 boys: 7th place (Massive effort to finish top 10!!)

Hunter: U/15 boys: 32nd place

Jess: U/16 girls: 61st place

Aaron: 24th place

As I mentioned, it is a huge effort to make it this far and we are proud of you no matter your results! Looking forward to updating you on all about the great events we have out on the sporting field during this term.

Cheers, Marcus Roberts – Sport Coordinator.

Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 boys netball team who completed at the Southern Metropolitan Regional finals on Monday 8th August. They had wins against Elisabeth Murdoch College and Koo Wee Rup Regional Secondary College and had hard fought loss against Berwick Secondary College. Overall the team came second in their pool. A big well done and congratulations to this dedicated bunch of boys!
