From the Principal

We would like to acknowledge the original custodians of this land and waterways

and pay our respects to the Elders past and present and emerging,

for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.

Mother's and Special Friend's Day

Thank you to the PFA especially the Year 1&2 parents for hosting the breakfast and gift buying stalls.  Everyone was so excited being given the opportunity to spend the time together this morning.  The children had a special buzz being able to buy that special gift. In particular thank you to Ruby and Hannah for the excellent coordination as Class Liaisons.

School Review

The week has concluded with our External Reviewer, Trish Cowling, having spent time in our school and meeting with the staff, students and some parents.  She was so impressed with our school community and through her meetings with the school's Leadership Group, she kept reiterating that the feel within was welcoming and inclusive. Trish used the words that one of the parents mentioned to her, as our school being a 'Boutique' one.

Mrs Cowling will provide to the school her recommendations that the school will embrace and enact up on for the following four years.  These will become part of Our School Improvement Plan.  Once finalised the information will be delivered to the school community.

On behalf of the school I would like to thank Mrs Cowling for making the time with us a positive one where the focus was on celebrating our successes and what will drive the school for the future.

Walk to School Day 19th May 2023

Our school has registered for the National Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 19 May 2023.  National Walk Safely to School Day is a community initiative that aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking (especially to and from school) can provide for the long term well-being of our children.

It aims to improve the environment and our daily exercise routines. Walking to school is the perfect way to start the day by getting some exercise and fresh air, ready to start school with a clear mind.

Perhaps, park the car further back from the school and have a walk with other children and their families.

The Sports Captains will be handing out stickers to all students.

Jump Rope for Heart

Sitting less and being active for 60 minutes or more each day has plenty of health benefits for primary-aged children. Research suggests that active children are more likely to become active and healthy adults, with a lower risk of developing preventable diseases, including heart disease, stroke and some cancers.  The children have embarked on the campaign when they are outside at recess and lunchtimes and can now be seen actively using the ropes in their play games.

Curriculum Day Monday 15 May 2023

Monday, 15 May is a curriculum day so there will be no school for students. OSHC is available for the families who need it.

School Fees

Families who are paying their school fees in three instalments are reminded that instalment 2 is due to be paid by Friday, 12 May 2023. Thank you to the families who have already paid.

Enrolments for 2024

If you have a child commencing school in 2024 please lodge an enrolment form at the school office as soon as possible.  Letters of Acceptance are currently being sent out with important information about dates for Getting to Know School and Orientation Days.

Working With Children Check - WWCC

All parents who volunteer in any school event must have a current WWCC.  These are easily obtained via the WWCC website and are free to all volunteers. Thank you for being proactive in wanting to work with our students.

Mother's Day

I wish all the mothers or special people in our lives a happy day this Sunday where you all get the chance to be a little bit spoilt.  I hope that there will be time for you all to be shown the appreciation of what motherhood really entails.    Happy Mother's Day!

A Mother's Day Blessing

Blessed is the Mother

Who lets the Lord be her guiding hand,

Whose faith brings her family courage,

Whose wisdom comes from God,

and whose children still stand and honour her.

Yours faithfully

Margaret Carlei
