From the Principal
May is often referred to as the Month of Mary – a month where Catholics across the world pay special devotions to our Blessed Mother Mary. As we all have in our own lives, in times of trouble we seek support, guidance and sometimes receive unasked for but needed tough love from our mothers. So it is as Catholics we pray to Mary and ask her to intercede on our behalf.
Drop Off and Pick Up Zone
Another reminder that the area in front of the school door is not a place to park and leave the car when dropping off in the morning or collecting in the afternoon.
Please remember to leave the loop free from parked cars for the safety of the children.
Open Day for New Enrolments
St Mary's Open Day tours for 2024 enrolments, will take place on Tuesday 16th of May from 9:30 - 11:00. We are of course happy to provide tours outside these times.
Please contact the office on 03 5472 2270 for details or email: admin@smcastlemaine.catholic.edu.au
Walk to School Media Photo
Thanks to those families who have sent in media release forms for the walk to school.
The news paper has informed us that they would like to have a photo with the children at 4:00pm on Monday 8th May. Here's hoping that everyone who completed the form is able to attend.
Happy News
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. One of our beloved teachers, Mrs. Berry, is expecting a baby!
As many of you know, Mrs. Berry has been an integral part of our school community for several years, and we are overjoyed to see her family grow.
We want to extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Berry and Jesse and wish her a healthy and happy pregnancy. We also want to thank her for her dedication to our school and our students, and we look forward to welcoming her back after her leave.
Mothers Day
Next week on Friday, the school will host a Mothers Day Breakfast to recognise and give thanks to the mums, grandmothers and special women in our lives. The breakfast will start at 8.00 am in the library. Come and enjoy the treats prepared lovingly by our students for these special people in their lives.
A Sad Farewell
I am also sad to inform you that one of our valued staff members, Mrs. Lewis, will be leaving our school to take up a new teaching position at Bendigo Senior Scondary College. Mrs. Lewis has been an valued part of our school community and we are sad to see her go.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Lewis for her service to our school and our students. We appreciate the hard work and dedication she has shown to our community, and we wish her all the best in her new position.
