Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day. On this special day we celebrate all our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and carers who have had such a significant influence on our lives. We also think of those whose mothers are no longer with us, but use the day to think of all the wonderful memories they have.

We pray for young mothers, who give life and tend to our every need; May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy.

We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us; May they continue to guide us in strong and gentle ways.

We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes away every tear.

We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion.

We remember mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us, but live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.

Amen

Mother’s Day Stall

Today the children will take home a personalised gift for the significant women in their lives. The children designed and prepared their own gifts last term.  A big thank you to Fiona Darcy for allowing us to utilize her business, Fusion Printing, and Sarah Toulman for assisting Fiona in the planning and organization of the gifts. Thank you also to the parents who volunteered their time this morning to help Fiona and Sarah sort the gifts. It is much appreciated by the children and staff and I know there will be some very happy ladies this Sunday.

Welcome

This week we welcome Jasper Collins-Gibbins (Gr 2 Matt) to our school community. He has joined us from Lorne. We wish Jasper and his family all the best as they settle in to our community and begin their journey at our school.

Sick Children

Over the past week we have had quite a few children absent from school through illness. Thank you to those parents who have notified the school. Some of these children have tested positive for COVID. It is important that you notify the school if this is the case so we can keep a record of the areas in the school that are affected.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Daniel and Jess Roberts on the birth of baby Rosa over the holiday break. A beautiful baby sister for Fletcher (Prep Gemma) and Pippa.

Car Park After School

Just a reminder that cars are permitted to enter the Calvert St. gate between 3.00-3.15 (strictly not beyond this time), should the bottom gate be blocked and you are wishing to get a park in the car park. I request that should you wish to do this, to keep left please enter with caution.

Also, it is very important that should arrangements change in relation to the bus roll, that you inform the office. If your child is marked on the roll permanently on a certain day as not to be on the bus, teachers will adhere to this unless the school has been notified otherwise.

Enjoy the rest of your week and happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and carers. A reminder that Monday is a pupil free day.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
