Peak Performance

Ben Murphy -  Peak Performance Coordinator

As term 2 kicked off, so did some of the winter sports that our WestVic Academy Athletes participate in. Many of our student athletes have been able to experience a range of successes throughout the beginning of the year.

Remi Bailey (Year 9) – Gymnastics & Tennis

Remi had started off the year well by winning his first Level Six Open Competition at the Mornington Youth Club. As well as an overall second place at the High-Performance Centre Invitational in Melbourne. He finished again in second place at the State Gymnastic Qualifiers, which would see him compete in April.

As a result, across a range of apparatuses he had finished third in the state overall, and his team took out the State Championship.

Eli Bailey (Year 8) – Gymnastics & Tennis

Eli is a talent both in the Gymnasium and the Tennis Courts. He was awarded runner-up in the U/14 Wimmera Region Tennis Points Tournaments. He was also able to represent the Wimmera Region at the Pat Cash Cup in February.

Eli was also a part of the same team as his brother Remi, that took out the State Championship in Gymnastics earlier this year!
