Instrumental Music

The music department has been busy at the beginning of Term 2. We hit the ground running with a rehearsal on the first day of the term and a performance at the Healesville ANZAC Day Dawn Service. The Dawn Service was very well attended with a number of people taking the time to congratulate the band on a great performance. This year at the Dawn Service we had over 30 musicians, 22 Legends students and 11 ex-students and Liz Bennett who joined us for the special occasion.

Legends Band also performed at the school Open Night on May 3, where they entertained prospective students and parents in the theatre.

In the coming weeks we have a number of students participating in the NEVR Concert. This is a concert which has over 800 students from our region involved. The students will attend some rehearsals before performing at Hamer Hall in the city on May 29.

And last, but definitely not least for this term, the Music Department Semester 1 Concert is fast approaching! This is to be held on June 15 in the school theatre. The Concert will feature all of the music students in the Music Program and is not to be missed! Everyone is working hard at school to prepare for this performance, and I’ll take this opportunity to ask parents to give their children a reminder to practise at home, to ensure they know all of their music.
