Home Group

Enhancing connections across the school

Throughout Term 1, home groups continued to engage in activities that furthered connections between staff and students and helped enhance the strong community we have at Healesville High School.

Congratulations to Maroondah House who were our winning house for the Thursday Home Group Challenge and enjoyed a morning tea in the library as a reward. The top three performing home groups within the challenge were: 1st Ms Penrose, 2nd Ms Todd, 3rd Ms Yate's home groups, all of which are in Maroondah House.

Many home groups also made an effort to recognize Harmony Week, a time to celebrate diversity and peace.

This year, a number of home groups took up a challenge for action and engaged in a letter writing activity to the soldiers in the Ukraine.

Such an activity enabled students to further develop awareness and appreciation of the peace enjoyed in Australia whilst also developing an awareness of the heart rending situation of those involved  in the current crisis.

Postcards to the Front is a small Ukrainian project aimed at supporting soldiers "with warm words".

Congratulations to all those involved. Your efforts will be certainly appreciated.

To finish the term, a number of home groups participated in an Easter Egg hunt with lots of fun had by all. Home groups were a real highlight of Term 1.
