Past Students
Briony Hay
In this segment, we like to celebrate past students and all that they have achieved. Briony Hay is from the class of 1997 and a long time local. Recently, she organised and hosted a charity event aimed at generating awareness for mental health issues, while bringing the local community together at the same time, through kindness and music.
Held at the Fluid Lounge, Briony planned an event which involved live music from a diverse range of genres. In doing so, she was supporting the ‘Love Me Love You’ foundation and managed to raise an impressive $10,190! 170 people attended the event, showing their support, and a range of local businesses provided prizes for a raffle.
‘Love Me Love You’ is a Melbourne based organisation which was founded in 2013 by former AFL player, Lance Picioane. The organisation offers group and individual programs to support people with their mental health and wellbeing.
Briony says the highlight was to see people out and having a good time. She’s incredibly grateful for ‘the community spirit, kindness and generosity that so many people gave to support the event to make it a wonderful night.’
Congratulations, Briony! We love to see our past students doing great things in our local community.
Chenile Chandler
Chenile, a graduate from 2015, continues to shine! Recently, she performed a ‘Call to Country’ at Ed Sheerin’s two Melbourne concerts. Singing in traditional language, Chenile wowed the audience and connected them to culture prior to Ed’s performance. What an amazing opportunity and a fantastic job by Chenile!
