Eco Club & Sustainability Update

Meet the Eco Club!

Eco club

The Eco Club, comprising of students from Years 4 – 5,  meet every Thursday at lunchtime.

Here are some of the important jobs we have been doing:

Nude Food

Nude Food Fridays are back this year! We have been busy each Friday keeping track of each classroom’s Nude Food progress. First, we visit each class and collect the data. We do this by working out the % of how many students have Nude Food for that week. Every class has a graph where they can track and display their results each week.

A special mention to the following classes for reaching 90% or more this term. Amazing effort, 2B, 2C and 3A!

Nude Food Fridays will be continuing next term, let’s try and get every class above 90%!

Check out some ideas below on how to make your Food Nude.

Eco-Bricks

In Eco Club we are trailing a new initiative to combat soft plastics! We are having a go of making some Eco-bricks. Eco-bricks are made by cutting up soft plastics into small pieces, then stuffing them into a plastic bottle. The key is to stuff the soft plastics in nice and firm. So far it is using up a lot of soft plastics to make just one! We are hoping that this trial will work and we can introduce Eco-bricks to the whole school. We will keep you all posted!
