Learning in Level 1 

Responsible Pet Ownership

This week in Level One students attended an incursion where they learnt about how to stay safe and look after pets. They enjoyed listening and viewing information that enhanced their understandings of Responsible Pet Ownership. 

English 

This term the students have been learning how to monitor meaning when reading. The students have continued to develop their reading skills through Guided Reading sessions and exploring a range of texts each day during the daily Reading Block. The students have been learning to use simple punctuation and descriptive language in their written work and have developed their handwriting through daily practice.  

Maths 

This term we have been studying addition. The students have been learning different strategies to use when adding numbers and have been revising 'Friends of Ten'. Each day the students have explored addition through the use of different concrete materials, playing numeracy games and completing set learning tasks.
