Hello, from our students and teachers.
Hello, from 4/5 Wadley
Well, who can believe that Term One is finished? (well finished in 1 day and a few hours...)
It has been a fantastic term which has been incredibly busy learning about:
Narratives
Persuasive texts
Literary and persuasive devices
Decimal numbers
Measuring
And lots, lots more. Is it any wonder we are tired?
Throw in NAPLAN, camp and an athletics day, no wonder the time has flown.
To finish off our persuasive unit, this week we made some brochures on a city or town in Australia. Our aim was to entice our audience to want to come and visit.
Here is some we created. Where will you be travelling to on the holidays?
We also typed into the website https://www.shopify.com/tools/slogan-maker to make some slogans for our brochures. Miss Wadley decided to experiment what would come up if she typed in her name. Here are some of her favourites:
'Danielle is crazy good.'
'The Ultimate Danielle machine.'
'Award winning Danielle.' and
'I learned it by watching Danielle.'
There were 1,023 slogans created just by searching Danielle! Click on the link and see what might come up for your name for a little holiday fun :)
And as a lucky treat to finish the term, we completed some Easter cooking. They didn't quite turn out as expected, but it rarely does!
The ingredients were:
Cadbury hollow Easter Eggs
Marshmallows
Raspberry lollies
Biscuits (we used scotch finger)
Sprinkles
Cadbury block of chocolate
And it was as easy as chopping up the marshmallows, raspberries and smashing the biscuits. Halving the easter eggs and making a rocky road mixture by melting the Cadbury block. Place the mixture inside the hollow egg, add some sprinkles and set in the fridge.
Taste test to follow later today but Miss Wadley thinks the reviews will be... DELICIOUS!
