Term Tea 

We're looking forward to having parents and friends join us for a Term Tea this coming Thursday evening, April 6.

 

Here's a summary:

  • Students in sports uniform. Stay at school for the whole day. No bus or pickup at 3:30.
  • Refreshments provided to students for afternoon tea.
  • Parents and other guests welcome to join us any time after 5 pm but should aim to be there before 5:45 pm.
  • Food available for purchase from Two Black Sheep food van or BYO picnic
  • Basketball final around 5:45pm
  • Awards around 6pm
  • All finished no later than 7pm

Here are the details:

All family and friends of MCC are invited to join us for our first Term Tea of 2023. We will be holding our annual house basketball tournament along with other activities, term awards, and more. Mums, Dads, Grandparents, former students, future students, friends of the school - everyone is welcome to join us.

 

Students should wear sports uniform on Thursday. Instead of going home at 3:30, students will stay at school for a 'class party.' The buses will not run on Thursday afternoon. The school will provide students with a substantial afternoon snack (sausage rolls etc). In some classes, students may be asked to bring an extra treat for the class to share.

 

After a snack and refreshments (and maybe a bit of a rest for our youngest ones), students will have a range of after-school activities to engage in. These include:

  • Basketball tournament
  • Downball competition
  • Soccer
  • Artroom activities

Parents and other guests are welcome any time from 5 pm onwards. We understand that will be too early for many but we'd encourage all parents to aim to be there before the start of the basketball final at 5:45 pm. The Two Black Sheep food truck will have some great food available for you to purchase (see the menu & prices below), or you could bring a picnic dinner for your whole family or wait until the evening is finished and have a late dinner at home.

 

The final of the house basketball tournament will be played at around 5:45 pm. All students and parents will be encouraged to find a spot on or near the sports court to watch.

 

We will have a short awards program once the basketball final is done - around 6pm. It will be getting dark soon after that since daylight savings will have finished.

 

You'll want to make sure you check out some of the artwork completed by students this past term. We will even have some artwork available for purchase. So don't leave without wandering through the art room first.

 

We expect the evening to be finished around 7pm.
