Head of Junior School Report

The Junior School continues to be a hive of activity. It’s hard to believe our little Preps are nearing the end of their first year at school and early next term we will be welcoming the 2020 Preps. As we prepare to welcome our new students to the Junior School we also look towards the senior end and prepare to say goodbye to our Year 4 students. This years cohort Year 4’s have been instrumental in the successful leadership of the junior school in both a formal sense, with our 6 house leaders facilitating our assemblies, leading at our sporting activities and encouraging and coordinating the borrowing of sports equipment at recess and lunch. Many fo the Year 4 students have also taken on leadership across the year in an informal manor regularly raising their hand to lead, be role models and spread positivity and a strong sense of belonging throughout the junior school.

In Term 4 we will be readying these Year 4 students for their important transition into Middle School and Year 5. With a range of activities planned to ensure this transition is smooth and everyone is feeling comfortable, the students will spend time in the Middle School getting used to being around bigger people and exploring the wonderful opportunities our Middle School has to offer.

With a busy Term 4 before us, our Junior School teachers are hard at work planning and preparing for what is going to be a wonderful end to the year. Please make sure parents that you mark in your calendar Friday the 18th October for our school Fete and Friday the 25th October for our Grandparents Day celebrations both events are set to be wonderful opportunities for our school to come together and celebrate our great community.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy and relaxing school holiday break. Take care, Mrs Swoffer
