Construction Bridge Competition announcement and a new challenge: Poster or Card Competition!

For our construction Bridge Competition, we have a winner: Congratulations to Angus for your beautiful work and thank you for including sustainable resources as well!

Also, well done to all the students who participated in this competition, who were not as many as last time but we appreciate your effort! Therefore, we have decided to reward you all with a token as an encouragement award!

Moving into our next competition, we thought to challenge you differently this time. However, there will be more lego competitions in a week or 2.

We would like to make a Thank-you poster or card for all our front-line heroes (nurses, doctors, police, teachers, and so on).

The poster or card competition will close on May 18 by 9 am.

Please send us some photos of your work to oshc.brunswick.nw.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

  1. Bernadetta’s Challenge

A couple of weeks ago, I have challenged our children in building a 3 or more storey house made of cards on our YouTube Channel last week and I know this is a big challenge!

So, I will suggest a few tips:

  1. Make sure to build your card’s house on a flat and stable surface, such as the floor or a kitchen top bench;
  2. Place a tea towel or towel on your surface, so the first row of cards is more stable and there is less risk of collapse; alternative you can use the carpet or flat rug.
  3. Before placing the cards on your construction, try on the surface first and see if the cards are collapsing – sometimes you need to find a perfect couple of cards!

I hope these tips will help you with my challenge and don’t forget to share photos or videos with us!

GUESS?

I am just placing the last 2 cards to complete my 4 storey house….

What do you think happened???

From the program:

We may have not many children at the moment at OSHC, but this doesn’t stop us to have some fun and stay connected with each other, no matter what!

Here are some photos from the program with a small group of children:
