STUDENT LEADERSHIP

BSC Student Leadership Workshop- Project Rockit!

"On Friday 28th of February, the student leadership and student action team went to a “Project Rockit” workshop. The objective of the program was to assist students into becoming more open about the idea of public speaking and somewhat to explore how popularity and one’s differences could affect the way they see leadership. The workshop led by Tayla and Gian from Project Rockit demonstrated how to overcome the fears that are attached to the word “leadership”, through a series of group and individual tasks. We were asked to decide upon our core values and also to justify why they were so important and how they could potentially help us not only to be a better leader but a better person in the future. Overall, we all had an amazing morning and we all have a clearer idea of not only how we want to approach our leadership positions this year in school but also potentially in the near future".

"The Project Rockit session on Friday was of tremendous value- the workshop showed us the basics and fundamentals of leadership skills while adding a unique, fun twist to every activity. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and really appreciated this opportunity".

"BSC Student leaders had Project Rockit run and provide a motivational speech to our leadership team. The session had a variety of activities available, which provided a great opportunity to learn and relate with someone from outside of school. Overall the session helped establish key leadership skills, and provided inspiration for improvements with in our school".

Blake, Junior House Captain

"A range of student leaders from the school all took part in a Project Rockit workshop. The workshop focused on a selection of leadership skills that will all benefit us in our coming school years and life after school. One of the main things we learnt was that no leader is the same. This is as everyone has different values therefore will lead in different ways. Not only was the workshop informative but it was also a lot of fun and a great way to learn a new range of skills".
