Velocity Transformations

Growth and positive change...
Velocity Transformations (VT) is a residential rehabilitation program for men and women from the age of 18 years old. The program assists people who suffer from drug and alcohol dependency, depression, eating disorders and other life-altering conditions.
A number of important developments have occurred in recent months with our beloved VT program. We have a full house with some 12 residents in the male program.
1) New Female Case Manager. We welcome Leena Whelan who has joined us on secondment from the Hervey Bay campus to help us case manage the ladies for the soon to be opened Women's Program.
Hi, I'm Leena, I am a graduate of Bayside Transformations in Hervey Bay. I started using heroin age 16 and things continued to spiral over my 20-year addiction. I lost everything and was in a state of complete hopelessness right before I began my journey with Transformations.
After graduating I joined the staff/team, and enjoyed growth in many different roles (House Supervisor, Case Manager, Program Coordinator), studying and training (Diploma Community Services). I'm so excited to now join Velocity Transformations as a caseworker and to help open the women's program here. I look forward to meeting you all.
2) Update on the Women's Program. The men have moved into their new house and they're loving it! Their old house, which will become the new women's house, is almost complete and should be ready for opening immediately in the new year. We have a growing waiting list of ladies who are going through initial assessment with our staff, and we are actively looking for a female house supervisor to manage the house, which is holding us up. But we are almost ready to go!
3) Two more graduates! On Sunday, December 8, we celebrated the graduation of Ryan and Beau from the program. Special guest of honour was Mike Barrett, Transformations founder who travelled from the Gold Coast to be present. Both graduates shared their life stories and their healing journey through the Transformations program. There was not a dry eye in the house as both had family present, several of whom had flown from interstate to celebrate the graduation of their transformed sons. The joy of the day was palpable and reminded everyone present why we do what we do! Well done Ryan and Beau, Velocity Church and the Pathways staff who make it all happen.
