GRIP Conference Report

By K. Grimmer

Last Wednesday, 29th May Mrs Grimmer and twelve Year 6 students attended the 2019 GRIP Conference at the Mildura Grand Hotel.  The sessions were run by the GRIP Leadership Team who travel all around Australia, delivering their highly engaging and interactive seminars to school students.  One very clear message that they highlighted was that leadership is a pathway and can impact your team, school and community.  Here are some thoughts from some of the students who attended the conference:

Maddison Carter— “You don’t have to wear a badge to be a leader.”

Kira Teasdale— “By being a leader, I can make the school a better place.”

Zhoe Willison— “It can help you when you get older and want to become a leader.”

Jayden Hawkes— “It was fun, exciting and involved a lot of laughing.  I really enjoyed it.”

Kaide Aitken— “Being a leader is more about caring about other people than yourself.”

Chanelle Woodberry— “It taught us new and interesting things such as the leadership pathway.”

Jesse Hando— “It doesn’t matter who you are, you can be a leader no matter what.”

Cooper Montagnese— “It helped me a lot to learn about how to be a good leader and it will help me in the future.”

Ikaya Robinson –  “Everyone can be a leader, it doesn’t matter how old or young you are.”

Tasharni Quinlivan— “It was a fun, engaging way to learn about leadership.”

Will Martin —  “It was very helpful for people who didn’t know how to be a leader before.”

Xavier Price— “It doesn’t matter who you are, you can be a leader in all sorts of ways.”

No Play After School

By W. Finn

A reminder to students and families that once the bell goes for dismissal at the end of the day, students need to make their way directly home or to the bus shelter.  Whilst we do have staff on duty after school, they are not supervising playgrounds and play areas,  so please ensure your child does not use these areas after school.
