Room 6

We have been exceptionally busy in Room 6 over the past fortnight.

We have been examining the story, The Enormous Turnip as our Talk4Writing text. We have created dioramas of the story’s setting and recreated the characters with plasticine. We discussed adjectives to describe the different characters and are having a lot of fun putting actions with our oral retell.

Last week, we created hats for Harmony Week and discussed the unique qualities, we have that make us all special. This week we have continued this focus, by examining Dreamtime stories and creating our own Aboriginal dot paintings.

We have been comparing our lives to our grandparents and have created timelines on our life and how our childhoods are similar and different.

In Maths we have continued our focus on measurement and looking at partitioning numbers to 10.

World Of Maths

World of Maths incursion was held on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

Within these sessions the students had the opportunity to problem solve with hands on, fun games. The students really enjoyed the opportunity to work on the open ended tasks with their peers.
