Moving to creating Digital Artworks

In the last week, students in Visual Arts have made the move from drawing and creating artwork on paper to discovering the possibilities of creating artwork in the app Sketchbook. It has not mattered what year group students are in, they are all learning and having fun. Here are some examples of what has been created by students in Art during their first couple of lessons using Sketchbook.

Year 7- working with layers

Yr 8 Students creating Art from pavement cracks, interesting landscapes or around the house

Exploring layers to create portraits

Yr 7, Yr 8 & Yr 9 students experimenting with the different tools in Sketchbook

Year 9 Mandalas

Year 9 Selective Visual Communication & Design

Students have been tasked with a range of design challenges, the first example is a Notan, which is a Japanese term that literally means "light dark harmony”, Students were asked to create a simple paper cutout Notan. The second example is a redesigned book cover.
