Aboriginal Administration School Based Traineeship 

Hunter New England Health is offering an exciting traineeship opportunity for a student keen to undertake a Cert III in Business Administration (Medical). This is a paid traineeship that requires you to work routinely 1 day per week with extra shifts in the school holidays, or as negotiated to complete the 700 hours of on the job development. You would be located at either the Wee Waa or Narrabri Hospital.  While undertaking your traineeship you would also be undertaking your usual Stage 6 studies in preparation for the HSC.

 

​Successful applicants with work within a multidisciplinary team to:

  • Provide administrative support including data entry, typing, records maintenance and filing
  • Assist customers with enquiries, including telephone and email enquiries while maintaining their privacy and confidentiality.
  • Complete orientation and mandatory training as required according to HNELHD policy.
  • Follow all instructions and maintain good communication with other members of your team, and your Supervisor / Manager

Health Services Assistant Traineeship - Acute Care 

Hunter New England Health are offering an exciting school based traineeship program in the area of Acute Care.  This is a great opportunity to continue with your HSC studies while also gaining valuable work experience.  The successful applicant's responsibilities would include;

  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living including sponging and bathing.
  • Changing and making beds/cots.
  • Feeding people.
  • Assisting with pressure area care.
  • Transferring and positioning of patients.
  • Assisting patients with their mobility.
  • Weighing patients, measuring height and girth.
  • Taking patient observations as directed by the nurse in charge.
