Hi everyone!

PLEASE BRING IN YOUR LIDS!

A reminder that Lucy and Adelia from 5/6MG are beginning a lid collection project, where they will collect, sort and send your lids to Rethink Recycling Co-op. It shocked us to learn that the lids from plastic borrles, shouldnt be put in our recycling bins, and when we leave them on the bottles, it contaminates that recycling load. Rethink saves them from landfill by making them into other products.

Please bring in your bottle lids - e.g. from milk bottles. They should have a 2 or 4 displayed under the lid.

Gardening Fun!

Our garden is bursting with goodness, ready to eat! Today, we picked 2 more purple carrots - they were very funny shapes! We also took home lots of silverbeet and our parsley, silverbeet and chives are starting to grow seeds, ready for next year. We are really hoping our strawberries will grow some delicious fruit in the next few weeks.

It was very exciting to receive some photos from William in Year 1 if the delicious omelette he had helped to make, using vegetables from our garden!

We would love to see any photos of our produce taken home being included in your dinner!  If you take a photo, please send to bnechwatal@tcs.catholic.edu.au.

Things we need!

Wooden spoons - to make decorative plant labels for our vegetable gardens.

We still need more paper bags to take our veggies home in. Please leave at the office, labelled “Miss Belinda”. Thank you!

3/4 TR AND BO’C BOTH WIN Nude Food this week, with 16 rubbish free lunches. Well done!

Some yummy ideas - a sandwich/wrap/roll, pasta with vegetables, soup, frittata or sushi, a fruit or vegetable snack, such as whole fruit, cut up veggie sticks, fruit or savoury kebab or a small salad.

There is a great booklet of ideas here
