Principal's News

Dear Families,

There are certainly no signs that we are slowing down at Trinity. In fact it is probably quite the opposite as the heat is on for classroom teachers to get through all the learning they have planned whilst also managing all those wonderful extras that come up at this time of the year. For any parents who were able to drop in yesterday this energy would have been more than evident at our Student Led Mini Fete.

Whilst today was an absolutely outstanding effort by our children and staff, in particular our SRC leaders, Senior students and Ms Antonella, what was even more impressive was what has gone on behind the scenes in the lead up to the big day with each class and teacher preparing an amazing stall or activity for the fete.  What started as a little idea grew into a big event which raised over $1,000 for the Smith Family Organization. Thank you to our children's generosity ( and of course a love for yummy treats so willingly prepared by our teachers and families) as they happily parted with their coins to eat, sing, play, and for some, be temporarily tattooed as part of the fun this day created. Perhaps we may need to recruit some of these children for our Fete Committee for next year? 'Fete committee' I hear you say. Yes! Next year Trinity will be holding a major event on Saturday 1st April so Save the Date as we will be having a School Fete.  Earlier this year, as you may remember, we called for interested parents to share their thoughts about how we can promote our amazing community and build our school's presence in the local community. We had a great group of enthusiastic parents and staff who were able to meet and discuss important marketing and promotion ideas.

For those of you who voted at Trinity in the last Federal Election you would have experienced the great buzz as we opened our doors to the wider public.  This experience reminded us how important it is for people outside our own school community to feel the warmth and sense of community we all know so well. Following these meetings a decision was made to hold an event which would enable us to share our school with others and at the same time raise some money for our Parents & Friends Association.  Thank you to all those other parents who have already nominated themselves to take on important roles in the organisation of this event. Jenny, our P&F president will lead the team but as we know noone can do it alone and I know she will have great support from all of us in the Trinity Community.  We will keep you all updated and I have added a P&F page where you will find updates over the next few weeks and of course next year.

Prayer:  Galatians 6:9

Eternal Father,
I pray that You will give every leader, child and adult strength, so they do not grow weary in their leadership role. Father, the tasks may seem overwhelming and exhausting, but I pray that every leader will recognize that they are assigned to do Your will. Therefore, I know that at the right time, they will reap the harvest/rewards if they do not give up. Lord, I pray for divine strength for every leader and that they will not rely on themselves, but on You.
Amen.

School Advisory Council

Last night our School Advisory council met for the final time in the 2022 school year. Whilst it is customary to call for nominations for office bearers and new members we have decided to postpone this process until next year. This will then give us the opportunity of perhaps incorporating some of our new families into this important group who will work together in an advisory role to discuss important school improvement plans. Early next year I will be calling for members of the parent group to be nominated or nominate themselves to join our School Advisory Council. My thanks to those members who worked with me this year, for their enthusiasm, honesty and comittment to our school.

Election Day

A reminder that the 2022 Victorian State Election will take place on Saturday 26 November 2022 at St Ignatius Church throughout the day.  While you are there you can purchase a delicious treat prepared by our generous parents who will be setting up a Baking Stall on the day.

Kind Regards

Nigel Rodrigues
