It’s the will to prepare to win that matters."

Individual Sports Achievements

Congratulations to Kate Elder who recently got awarded a Life Membership from CGSSSA, which is quite an honour, as there are only 4 other people who have received this award.

Over her many years of teaching, Kate was actively involved in the CGSSSA (Catholic Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association). Kate has been a member for over 35 years and has been a part of the executive, as Vice President of this association for over 20 years.

Congratulations to Sophie Ferenczi who was also awarded the Blue Award from CCC. This is the highest award in Catholic School Sport in recognition for her outstanding achievements in Cross Country.

Representative Sport Results

Oztag

Congratulations to the Junior A team who won the entire SCS competition. The girls played a thrilling final against Aquinas Menai. At the end of the game, the score was 5 - 5. The team had to drop to 5 versus 5 players. They then had to drop to 4 versus 4 players. Marissa Di Bartolo scored the winning try. Well done to the entire team and their coach Mrs. Coleman.

Hard Luck to the Junior B team who lost out to the OLSH B team in the conference final.

Intermediate Oztag

Congratulations to the Intermediate A team who placed third in their conference.

Senior Oztag

Congratulations to the Senior A team who won the entire SCS competition. The girls played a thrilling final against Aquinas Menai. They won out 7 - 2.  Well done to the entire team and their coach Mrs. Gordon.

Volleyball

The Junior A Volleyball team placed second in the conference. They lost out to Marist Catholic College North Shore. The girls won the first set but unfortunately lost the second and third sets. Well done to all the girls and their coach Mrs. McWhirter.

Well done to both senior volleyball teams. The girls had never played competitively before and learned a lot of new skills. The senior volleyball team finished third in their conference.

Cricket

Both our Junior teams played really well throughout the Sydney league. The girls improved significantly during the seven weeks with both teams making it to a semi-final. Unfortunately, both teams were narrowly defeated in their semi-finals. A big thank you to their coach, Mr. Wilson who taught the girls how to bowl, field and wicket-keep.

Badminton

The Senior and Junior Badminton doubles teams took to Sydney Olympic Park on December 8th with their coach Mrs. Mabey. The girls had a great day and played with Brigidine Spirit. There were 24 schools from all over Sydney involved in the event organised by Badminton NSW. Six out of our seven teams won their group stages and progressed to the quarter-finals. Chloe Saputra and Megan Satya, one of our junior doubles, progressed to the semi-finals.

Thursday Sport 2023

In preparation for 2023, we have reviewed our approach to sport for Students in Years 9-11 and, in doing so, will allow students in these year groups the opportunity to engage with free-choice sports.

On Friday 9th December students and their families received a letter outlining these changes as well as the process for electing their sports in 2023.

In conjunction with free-choice sports, we will also have our Thursday Representative sport options running. Each Term, the girls will get the opportunity to sign up for a representative form, via a Google form that is sent out on week 3, of the prior term.
