Principal's Message

Thank you for a fantastic 2022!

It feels almost impossible that we have reached the end of 2022. What a year it has been.

We started the year working out of 2 learning places for the entire school, Peppermint and Banksia and finished with the addition of Heath.

Our student numbers started at 62 and finished the year with 72. Our staff have grown from approximately 25 to currently 50.

Next year we will welcome 48 additional students and 25 staff at the beginning of term 1. All learning places will be in operation. We have supported the new students with "Stay and Play" days for the prep students and their families and on Wednesday 14th December we had "Step up Day" for the students in Heath, Acacia, Banksia and Bursaria. Staff are busy preparing resources and information to support the student’s transition. 2023 Class lists will be sent home with End of Year reports on Monday 19th December.

The substantive principal position has been delayed to next year and will now be advertised in term 1 2023 with the successful candidate to start at the beginning of term 2 2023.

During this term, the students have experienced many wonderful activities and learning opportunities. We held our very first school excursion to the art centre in Melbourne. Glenallen school generously donated the use of their bus for the day. Staff and students headed off with a smile and had a wonderful day. The students are to be commended for demonstrating our school value "Be Kind" whilst out and about.

On Tuesday 13th December we celebrated our inaugural primary to secondary school graduation. Our students were presented with certificates, a book commemorating their year, a Bunnings voucher and plant. Mr Julian Hill, federal member for Bruce was in attendance to present certificates for all students. Julian also presented Ayse with the "Community Spirit" award. Ayse won this award for her positive and friendly attitude, her perseverance in her learning and for her writing. Ayse submitted a picture story that she wrote and illustrated into a young adult writing competition. Ayse and her family were then invited to Dandenong town hall where all the award recipients from across the City of Casey were recognised. Sue Coull also came to support the students and present her memories of opening Endeavour Hills Specialist School and express how proud she was of the students.

Wednesday 14th December, we held our volunteer thank you breakfast. The guests were treated to a beautiful spread and joined the breakfast club with some of our students. We would like to thank the following people and organisations that have helped us this year

Bunnings Dandenong

The Men’s Shed

State Schools Relief

The ACE foundation

Ventura bus drivers and supervisors

Program volunteers Alejandra and Zahara

I would like to thank our school council for their dedication and support as we opened our school. The school council meets twice per term. Information regarding opportunities to be on school council will be sent home early term 1 2023.

Keep an eye on our website for exciting updates including a virtual tour of the school, event calendar and changes to our communication platforms in 2023.

I would personally like to thank the students, their families, and staff for an incredible first year. 12 months ago, I was so excited to start my journey at Endeavour Hills Specialist School as Assistant Principal. Now 12 months later I have the incredible honour of being Acting Principal of this amazing school. I have enjoyed getting to know your children and watching them learn and grow and become important founding students. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

Please remember school finishes at 1pm on Tuesday 20th December and students commence school on Monday 30th January 2023.
