Sora is our EBook borrowing system. We are extremely fortunate at St Joseph's to have a subscription to Sora which has been generously by our Catholic Schools Office. Our children in Stages 2 and 3 have been learning how to access these books online. We have a huge amount of books available to the children and all they need is a device and know how to log in. To do this they use their Chrome username and password. press the button below and it will take you to the site. Our school is ACEN (Australian Catholic Education Network)
What a successful book fair we had this year and it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and new ones as well. We took over $2000 in sales which means that I was able to take a commission in books and Scholastic Rewards. Children were very enthusiastic about recommending books that we didn't have in the library and that they would like to read. So look out for lots of new books in the future.
Thank you to everyone who visited the Book Fair and made it such a success.
The CBCA Book of the Year Notables was announced recently . This is a list of the best books released by Australian authors and illustrators in the previous twelve months. This long list will be shortened and then the winners of Book of the Year will be announced during Book Week in Term 3. This is a great list if you are looking for books for our children. You can find more about Notables here.
International Women's Day was celebrated on the 8th of March. We have lots of suitable books celebrating women in our library which are available to the children.
