As we come to the end of another extraordinary year it provides a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on all that we have achieved during 2022. Over the last couple of weeks, there have been several opportunities where we have celebrated these achievements as we came together as a community to acknowledge a series of significant educational milestones. I acknowledge the incredible team effort that the organization and execution of the events which celebrate these milestones have required. At Clayfield, we are so blessed to have a team of dedicated, professional, and thoughtful staff who support, extend, nurture, and genuinely care about ensuring that every student is known, valued, and understood. Thank you to all the staff at Clayfield for ensuring the closing weeks of the school year were filled with laughter, kindness, and learning. I also thank all parents and caregivers for your support during 2022, we feel so honoured that you have entrusted us with the education of your child. And lastly, but most importantly I thank and acknowledge our amazing students who have let their light shine brightly both as individuals and as the Clayfield team during 2022.
You may have noticed over the last couple of weeks the demolition of Clayfield International. This demolition work continues to progress the campus revitalisation program of work. This work will continue to occur over the Christmas holiday period.
The projects scheduled to occur over the Christmas period include:
As the year comes to an end, we bid farewell to several colleagues. We are sad that they are leaving us, grateful that they have been part of our community and hopeful that the future will bring them success and happiness. I am sure you will join me in wishing them well as they seize the opportunity for a promotional role, to move closer to loved ones, or to undertake the next stage of their lives.
We thank: Danielle Hodgson, Paula Hart, and the Catering Team (Tony Corry, Sandy Ha, Melissa Hill, Agnes Kay, Miran Kim, Janice Leong, Tania Anderson and Sharon Carr) for all that they had done to enable the students of Clayfield to flourish. At the end of the year, there is also staff whose fixed-term contracts at the College come to an end. We wish Helen Rath and Marie-Claire Borrman all the best for the next stage of their journey.
On behalf of all the staff at the College, I thank each of you for a wonderful year. To those who are not continuing their journey at Clayfield, we extend our very best wishes. To those returning in 2023, we look forward to sharing in a historic year in the life of Clayfield College. I wish each of you a happy and holy Christmas.
