Wellbeing

Farewell from me to you

2022 has been another extraordinary year in the life of our school community. As this year

concludes, I pass on my best wishes to the grade six students who are concluding their primary schooling and are embarking upon the next stage in their life’s journey.

These past 3 years of primary school have not been what anyone would have wished for you. However, in many respects they will have prepared you for the future in ways that cannot be determined or fully understood at this stage.

Embrace the opportunities and challenges that life will present you with and continue to be flexible, as you have had to be throughout these recent years.

Here are 7 tips you may like to apply as you continue through life:

  1. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
  2. See life as it is, but focus on the good bits.
  3. If you want to feel good, do good.
  4. When we are together, everything is better.
  5. Be active, rest and relax.
  6. There is more to life, when you stop and take notice.
  7. Find time to lose yourself in what you love or enjoy.

As we all approach the conclusion of a rather huge year, we also look forward to occasions of celebration and times of relaxation during these coming weeks. It is a special opportunity to spend time with family and friends or both, it is that time of the year when

traditionally many people send wishes of joy, happiness and peace to one another. It is a time of goodwill, when family and friends come together for a meal and to exchange gifts.

It is my hope and desire that each and every one of you have a well-earned and wonderful time of relaxation, refreshment and rejuvenation in preparedness of another busy year in 2023.

This is my final contribution to the Bimbadeen Blaze. After 3 years at BHPS, I am also finishing up at the end of 2022. I have appreciated the many opportunities to meaningfully connect with students, parents and staff and for the privilege of providing wellbeing support within this school community.

With best wishes from me and my family to yours for a happy Christmas and safe New Year.
