LITURGY NEWS

6H had the opportunity to attend Reconciliation with Fr Chris yesterday.

Next Friday (24th May) Primary students and staff will walk down to the Church to celebrate Mary Help of Christians Feast Day.  The Mass will begin at 9.30am and parents and friends are more than welcome to attend. Students are able to wear either their sports or winter uniform according to their grades weekly uniform arrangements.

MOTHER'S DAY MASS

Thank you to all our parents and friends especially mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and aunties who were able to attend our Mother’s Day Mass last Friday in the Hub. It was amazing to see so many people from our school community gathered in a transformed space outside the Church to celebrate the Mass.   What a wonderful and fitting way to say thank you to the special ladies in our lives. A special thank you to Fr Chris for presiding over the Mass . To the staff and students, thank you also, you are always so supportive in helping set up, decorating and going with the flow.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

As we prepare for Catholic Schools Week (26th May- 1st June) we are reminded of the wonderful opportunities that our Catholic schools provide, especially here at St Nicholas, the achievements that we should celebrate and the mission of which we are to fulfill in life. The theme for CSW 2019 is ‘Mission. Learn. Care’. This reflects our focus on serving others like Jesus did, learning with others and caring for others. To help celebrate and acknowledge CSW, we invite students and/or their families to write or draw answers to questions outlined in the pack sent home yesterday to each family.  The completed pieces of paper then need to be returned to school by next Friday 24th May so that each coloured rectangle can help form part of a larger CSW logo.

FIRST EUCHARIST DRESS- Boys and Girls

We have an extensive array of both boys and girls clothing for loan here at school for First Eucharist. If any parents are interested in viewing or borrowing a beautiful white dress, white shoes, black pants, a tie and/or a white long sleeved shirt then please see Mrs Grady or Mrs Burke in the front office.

MAY- THE MONTH OF MARY

May is the month of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We can take the month of May as an opportunity to renew our own devotion to the Mother of God by dusting off our rosary beads and adding a few more Marian Prayers to our daily routine. Prayers such as Hail, Mary, The Angelus, The Regina Caeli and The Memorae are some that can be included in your daily prayer as well as saying the Rosary.
