Primary Arts Night
Primary Arts Night
On Tuesday evening, 25 June, the Primary school held its annual PRIMARY ARTS NIGHT.
The theme this year was “BEING ME” which focused on RESILIENCE, BRAVERY, FRIENDSHIP, INDIVIDUALITY, INNER STRENGTH, OUTER STRENGTH, BEING RESOURCEFUL, BEING GRATEFUL.
It was a spectacular night of Art, Dance, Music, colour and fun. Each class presented Art work from the specialist Visual arts program, a choreographed dance with the guidance of the “Ground Force” team, and a musical item prepared through the specialist Music program.
The Brass and Woodwind immersion groups also performed as an ensemble, and this was followed by Concert Band 3 playing at their first performance for the year.
The 3/4/5 and 6/7 Choirs also performed, singing beautifully to a very full audience in the gymnasium.
The opening song “Fight Song” and the closing song “I’ve Gotta Be Me” encapsulated the theme, and involved every boy in the Primary school.
It was a wonderful celebration, demonstrating our fantastic community at Blackfriars, with outstanding attendance by all families.
Many thanks to
- the teams from the Creative Arts & Design Technology and Music departments

- Hugh, Hamish and Mrs Holland for the expertise MC duties
- Craig from Supersound Productions;

- and last but not least …the amazing boys and their families for their commitment to the school and the programs we offer. The Dominican Pillar of “Community” was very evident.
