What does High Expectations mean?

Staff and students have been 'setting the climate' in relation to teaching and learning, and behavioural expectations.  You will have seen on our fence line the new banner that highlights our focus.  We encourage all families to use such language in the home to replicate what we expect.

Our Annual Implementation Plan goals are ambitious and we will achieve these when we all have a relentless and fearless focus on setting high expectations.  We are concentrating on:

  • English - Reading and Spelling
  • Mathematics - Number and Algebra
  • Student Wellbeing - Bullying and School Connectedness

Minor and Major Behaviours

2020 is the year where we all stand united in our expectations of student behaviour at CSPS.  All staff and students have been working together in understanding the differences between each, in student friendly language, and the relative consequences.

Although our focus is always on Positive Behaviour, we need to balance with ensuring a safe and orderly environment for all.

We strongly encourage all families to place the Minor and Major Behaviour chart in a prominent place in the home to refer to.

Staff and Principal class will be stand strong in adhering to this shared purpose.

Positive Behaviour Matrix

At Cranbourne South Primary School we have a culture of High Expectations. CSPS implements the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework (SWPBS). An essential component of SWPBS is to develop a continuum of procedures to discourage inappropriate behaviours. This resulted in the development of a Minor and Major Behavioural Expectations Chart. (see above)

In our classroom, the teachers and students have been focusing on the following section of the Behaviour Matrix. This is an important process in developing School Climate.
