Welcome to the year.  What an uplifting and exciting start to the year. 

  • The new Foundation students are definitely a highlight and welcome addition to the CSPS family.
  • The Year 6 students have been exemplary role models in their leadership and positive behaviour.
  • We welcome new staff; Miss Monique Tempone Fb, Miss Jessica Cook 1b, Mrs Alicia Papadopoulus 5b, Ms Danielle Curtois (Physical Vibe) and Ms Ruth Clements 1a and Arts.
  • We welcome back; Mrs Kathy Goodwin 3a and Mrs Clare Bennett 3b.

On Tuesday 28th January, staff were actively engaged in a Curriculum Day that set the tone and focus of the year.  The day was extremely productive; ending in a special Build a Burger for the Bushies fundraiser for Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

 

We look forward to families introducing themselves at the upcoming Meet and Greet on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th February.

Uniform Policy 

Infringement Notices

The Uniform Policy at CSPS reinforces in students a pride in their own appearance, instils recognition of themselves as an integral part of the school community, and assists in developing pride in representing their school.  CSPS has High Expectations, including in the enforcement of the Uniform Policy.

From Monday, 10th February, staff will issue Uniform Infringement Notices for the four main elements outlined in the Uniform Policy.

  • Appropriate earrings.
  • Stud earrings or sleepers worn in the ears and watches/fitness trackers are the only acceptable jewellery.  
  • Hair colour
  • Extreme hair colours (eg: green, blue or purple rinses) and/or extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
  • Appropriate fashion accessories
  • Seasonal or in-fashion accessories (such as JoJo bows or Bandanas) may be worn, but may be deemed unacceptable by the Principal class on a case-by-case basis.
  • Cosmetics

Other than clear nail polish, cosmetics are not permitted.

 

A copy of the CSPS Uniform Storyboards and CSPS Uniform Policy are available on the school website.

 

A student may be subject to disciplinary action if they repeatedly and without reasonable explanation, fail to adhere to this policy.

Cranbourne South Primary School is committed to safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.

 

CHILD SAFE Standards  STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT. 

Child Safe Standards focus on creating a safe environment for children. 

To create and maintain a child safe organisation, all Victorian schools must comply with Ministerial Order No. 870 - Child Safe Standards, which came into effect 1 August 2016. 

 

Child Safe comprises 7 standards.   

Standard 1: Strategies to embed an organisational culture of child safety 

Standard 2: A child safety policy or a statement of commitment to child safety 

Standard 3: Developing a Child Safety Code of Conduct 

Standard 4: Screening, supervision, training and other human resource practices that reduce the risk of child abuse 

Standard 5: Procedures for responding to and reporting suspected child abuse 

Standard 6: Strategies to identify and reduce or remove risks of child abuse 

Standard 7: Strategies to promote child participation and empowerment

Mobile Phone Policy

Mobile Phone Policy

From Term 1 2020, students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored during school hours.  Exceptions to the policy may be applied if certain conditions are met. Exceptions can be granted by the principal, or by a teacher. Exceptions must be documented.  

Where students bring a mobile phone to school, the school must provide secure storage.  Year 3 - 6 have been provided with secure storage and staff audit the students, phone type, model, colour etc...

Schools will manage non-compliance with their local mobile phone policy in accordance with their existing student engagement polices.
