OUR FAITH

PRAYER
Bless us God with quiet places,
Bless us God with still spaces,
Transform us Jesus with warm words to speak Your truth.
Transform us Jesus with helpful hearts to follow Your way.
Inspire us Holy Spirit with fun, friends and family to live joyfully Your life.
Inspire us Holy Spirit with Your peaceful presence.
Amen
We pray ...
We pray for... our school community as we journey through Lent, for the Jarrett and Wheatley families (Mackayla 6U/ Tom 6U & Ella 2M) as their grandmother is very unwell, and for all who are sick and suffering.
LITURGY NEWS
We thank Fr Chris for the opportunity of 6D attending Reconciliation on Wednesday.
PROJECT COMPASSION BOXES
Each class and family received its own Project Compassion Box today and over the next forty days of Lent we will be looking to make contributions (big or small) to these boxes in our homes, classes and school. The forty days during Lent are a time of preparation for Easter when we renew our lives as modern-day disciples of Jesus. We are particularly encouraged during Lent to give greater attention those who might be in need. One way we are able to do this as a Catholic Community is by supporting Project Compassion run by CARITAS Australia.
We are aware of many local families doing it tough during the drought so please remember prayers for more rain. Prayers for those in need and random acts of kindness that don't cost money can be just as good as a monetary contribution!
GREEN DAY- Celebrating St Partick's Day
Our annual ‘Green Day’ will be held on Friday, 13th March. This will be a day where children wear ‘green mufti clothes’ and participate in a variety of activities organised by our Year 6 students and staff. Students are asked to bring along varying coin donations to put towards our fundraising efforts for CARITAS Australia. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
FAMILY MASSES
Our first Family Mass for the year was celebrated last Sunday. With the church nearly full it was wonderful to see so many of our new families being part of this gathering and the children taking on roles throughout the Liturgy. A special thanks to Fr Chris for celebrating the Mass with us and for making our new families feel welcomed into our Parish. Kindergarten and their Year 6 buddies did a fantastic job in providing and serving morning tea. The scrumptious morning tea was very much appreciated by everyone and we thank the students, teachers and families of these grades for making our first Family Mass of the year so special.
Celebrating Mass each Sunday is an essential part of our faith and enables us to form a community based on faith, hope and love, where the love of God and love of neighbour is fostered. Making this a regular part of family routine each week is one-way families can nurture a strong and enduring faith that we may be able to turn to throughout our lives, especially in times of crises and difficulty. Our next Family Mass will be on Sunday 5th April (Yr 1 & Yr 5 hosting). Please mark this date on your family calendar.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
On Friday, 6th March, St Nicholas School staff will lead the Stations of the Cross at St Nicholas Church. This act of faith will begin at 5.30pm and run for approximately 30 minutes. Students and their families are more than welcome to join us.
