I am currently looking for permissions to publish any of the following images, artworks, or writings on the history component of our website. I am also looking for any further information on the events listed that anyone may have in their possession.

1982: the guest speaker's address at the speech night at Willoughby Town Hall. The guest speaker was an ex-student from 1970-1975.
1982: copy of any information from a debating competition related to historical topics, which was introduced within the North Sydney region and area. KHS competed against Ravenswood in March 1982. The topic was: ‘That Gallipoli is worthy of its place in Australian History’.
In 1982, the essay by a year 10 female KHS student who was awarded 2nd prize in the Australian-Japanese Cultural Essay Competition.
1988: a male KHS student (School Certificate) who did a large pencil sketch of students in a class room.
1989: any artworks from the art exhibition entitled “Guernica”. This was a display of art work by year 10 KHS students which concentrated on the theme of war and destruction.
In 1989, a KHS History staff member was asked on behalf of KHS to consult with A.A. Hudson in their proposed restoration of Rose Cottage – the oldest timber building in Australia. KHS was asked to advise on how it could best be incorporated into the educational process. Any documentation on this.
1991: a year 10 KHS student had their art work displayed at an “On This Day Award” exhibition held at Darling Harbour during November.
1992: one of KHS’s drama classes was a notable feature at the opening of the Kerrabee Performance Centre. The students put on “static’ displays in which they showed, in human sculpture, the wide variety of activities which take place in a theatre. Any photos please of this event.
In 1993, year 10 KHS students attended a Gender Equity Day at Macquarie University. This day was designed to broaden the minds of male and female students to the different vocations to which they may aspire. Any information from this day.
In 1993, a selection of drama items were presented at the Kerrabee Theatre on Friday & Saturday 28th August 1993. These included those items entered for the Shakespeare Festival and the winning mime piece presented at the Darling Harbour Prom. Any pictures from these drama items.
1993: a year 8 KHS student won the Picture Book Section of the ‘Taronga Zoo Book Writing Competition’ in 1993, and this spurred on many more entries for the 1994 competition.
1994: a year 9 KHS female student was a finalist in the Henry Lawson Poetry Writing Competition. She was also commended, as was another KHS student, for her entry in the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Competition. Copies of these works please.
In 1994, a year 12 KHS art student, who had their major works selected for display in Art Express, also had their work displayed in Japan.
In 1994, ‘fire’ was the theme of an original piece of work that the year 11 KHS drama class performed in the Kerrabee Theatre. This drama opened with an enchanting portrayal of the discovery of fire, according to aboriginal myth, and the group explored the effectiveness of mime, colour and texture. The group then presented a chilling re-enactment of Sydney’s bush fires. Any information or images of this event please.
1999: two speeches on the Anzac Day commemoration - both by year 12 KHS students. Permission to publish for these two please.
In 1994, nine male KHS students participated in the Northern NSW Interschool Ski Races, which were held at Blue Cow Mountain during the July school holidays. There were 1800 competitors, including disabled skiers. KHS’s snowboarding team of three year 12 students came 2nd in the year 11-12 competition, qualifying for the State Finals. In 2008: the artwork on the back cover of The Green Years magazine was produced by a year 11 KHS student.
In 2016: a year 12 KHS HSC student’s Music Course 2 Musicology essay was selected as exemplary by NESA.
