Grade Four

Grade 4 Report

It’s been an exciting Term 4 being back in the classroom. It’s great to see everyone’s faces

again, having a laugh and socialising.

Students have been working hard in Maths this term. There has been a heavy focus on fractions and decimals where students are converting between the two. They’ve also been working with equivalent fractions and percentages, as well as investigating analogue time and time problems. They have also spent time mapping the school, adding a key and using specific language to give instruction and directions.

The CSI Week was a massive hit in Literacy this term. Students used interference skills to

discover clues regarding the stolen Richmond hat. Many student detectives believed Mr. Werner was the thief until some late information revealed Ms. Jamison was the actual culprit. Students have had the chance to do some independent writing this term, choosing their own style of writing to enjoy.

In Integrated Studies, students are currently planning the creation of their own island. In groups they need to map their island showing their knowledge of Australian Biomes, Flora and Fauna. Soon they’ll get the opportunity to build their islands in class.
