Prayer for Teachers
This Friday we celebrate World Teachers' Day. It is a day to acknowledge the efforts of all teachers, particular in a year like no other where online or remote learning became the new norm. We also acknowledge those who are our first and foremost educators – our parents, as well as coaches and mentors who have imparted their knowledge and wisdom on us. Let us take time to reflect upon all those people who have shaped our lives.
A Prayer for World Teachers' Day
Giver of all wisdom and greatest of all teachers,
look upon our teachers with love .
Bless their hearts for they rejoice when we succeed
and encourage us when we fail .
And bless them with gentle patience
for the path of learning is never easy .
Kindle a spirit and passion in them;
it is the flame that ignites the love of learning in us .
Help them see the potential in each student.
Inspire them to touch the future.
Bless our teachers who have come before
for their work endures to this day .
Let the light of your example shine upon all teachers
to build up with their words,
to love with their mind,
to share with their heart.
Amen
HSC Continues
The HSC exams continue this week and we ask that you keep the boys in your prayers. Some of the exams have certainly been challenging but the boys have worked hard and have been rising to that challenge in true Pius form.
P&F AGM
The P&F AGM was held on Monday evening via TEAMS. As I was unable to attend, I would like to thank Mr Casey for stepping in on my behalf.
I would like to sincerely thank the outgoing Committee members for all their efforts over what has been a very difficult year, with so many functions being cancelled. Most of the members are remaining on the committee, albeit in different roles. A special thank you to Cassie Buono who is stepping down from the Committee this coming year.
I welcome the following Committee:
President: Sarah Gillard
Vice President: Angelo Guerrera
Treasurer: Thomas Lau
Secretary: Renee Sullivan
Social Co-ordinators: Louise Johnston & Rossana Bennett
Communications Co-ordinator: Julie Charlton
Class Parent Co-ordinator: Braelen Zwart

We will be holding our Year 12 2021 Student Investiture this Thursday, 29 October. This event will be live-streamed to the students. A link to view the investiture will be placed on the Portal at a later date for parents to view this special event.
Year 11 Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
Year 11 Reports will be available on the Portal on Friday afternoon. Year 11 Parent / Teacher interviews will be held next Monday from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. These interviews will be held online and Year 11 parents were emailed information regarding booking last week from Mr Damo.
Junior School Book Week
What a wonderful morning last Friday with our Junior School Book Week Parade! So many of the students and staff put a lot of effort into their costumes. Congratulations go to all the Junior School and especially Mrs Elena Martin for the Parade and its organisation. Please see the Junior School News this week for more photos.

The '300 Club' at Saturday Cricket
Last Saturday's cricket games produced some of the best batting that St Pius X College has ever seen! Three boys made over 100 runs in their innings, and I would like to congratulate, from the 1st XI, Joel Austin (105 runs not out) and Joe Colgan (127 not out off 128 balls), with a partnership of 242. In the 2nd XI, Keelan Mendel scored 142 runs (a new record for highest score from a St Pius 2nd XI player). Well done to all three students.
