Principal

Welcome Back to the Trinity School Community,

It is hard to believe that we were away from school for 15 weeks. The children and teachers have seemlessly slotted back into normal school routine, it is amazing how quickly and easily this has occured.

Here are a few 'excited to be back at school faces'

A very big thank you to all the Trinity staff who must be commended for their outstanding dedication and commitment to all the students and families over the past term. All staff - teaching and non teaching remained high spirited and positive during this challenging time,  supporting one another and often undertaking 'random acts of kindness'.

We've received many messages of thanks as well as gifts and flowers from families particularly over the past week, who have truly appreciated the creativity, innovativeness, flexibility and patience of our teachers. At all times the staff have been solution focused, enthusiastic, energetic and passionate.  All these factors attributed to the very effective learning program that our children undertook. We are very proud, grateful and fortunate at Trinity to have such a highly skilled, professional and hard working staff.

We also acknowlege the dedication of our families, who often under challenging circumstances, ensured the learning went on. And to our amazing students whose desire to learn and committment to their learning is truly impressive. As a school our overall attendance rate was extremely high during remote learning with  students ready for learning punctually at 9am. Students stayed till 1:30pm and often continued to work way beyond this. An enormous amount of high quality work was turned in for feedback.

As the students have settled so well, the teachers have already begun assessing students to ascertain the level each child is at in Literacy and Numeracy in order to design targetted and personalised learning at their point of need. It is so important that we know exactly where the children are at (after remote learning) so that we can work towards meeting their individual needs for the remainder of this year, preparing them for transitions into their new classes in 2021. We want to be able to give each and every child the best opportunity to learn and progress this term so that they can begin their school year next year as confident, happy and engaged learners. As always, if you have any concerns about your child's learning please do not hesiate to make a time to meet with me, or your child's teacher - Annabelle Marinelli amarinelli@tcs.catholic.edu.au

The junior students were particularly excited to be back at school - Kate, Suzanne and Lucy set up a beautiful welcome surprise.

Then during Circle Time on Monday morning, the children reflected on remote learning and came to the conclusion that they were very lucky to have people at home to help and support them. As a thank you, the students wrote a card, made wrapping paper and gave their families a thank you flower. A big thank you to Bridge Road Florist who very generously donated the flowers.

The prep one students where very excited to give a ‘real life flower!’

Year 3/4 Camp

The Year 3/4 Camp was booked for later this month of October. Unfortunately, due to current restriction this will need to be cancelled. I'm sure everyone will be very disappointed about this. We continue to hope that Senior school camp will proceed later in the year.

It is highly unlikely swimming will go ahead, the year 3/4 camp has been cancelled and most of the excursion/incursion levy has not been spent, though teachers have booked some incursions for Term 4 which we are hoping will be allowed to proceed.

Toward the end of the year we will reconcile the accounts and credit all outstanding balances to the 2021 accounts. Any student leaving Trinity will be offered reimbursment for the remaining balance or may to choose to  donate this money to assist other families experiencing financial difficulties. We will provide you with more details later in the term.

Miss Belinda

Miss Belinda shared her Covid experience with a local journalist in the area. Thankyou Belinda for also sharing it with the Trinity Community.
