Benefit Mindset Approach

Being the best for the world

I have shared a number of articles with you this year on the Benefit Mindset.  See the diagram below for a quick reminder of what this is about.

For the past two weeks, our Prime Minister has been in the United States meeting with many important people, including an extended one on one with President Joe Biden. She also provided the Commencement Address at Harvard University. Whatever people's political opinions, it is fair to say our Prime Minister represented our country with grace, wisdom and compassion, and we should be proud of the regard in which our country is held internationally.

What particularly interested me was to see a snippet of her speech shared on national news on TV3. She referred to the approach we are seeking to take as a nation of Kai Tiaki - guardians. She quoted that "we as a nation seek not to be the best in the world, but the best for the world."

I wrote about this very phrase some weeks ago, which came out of some research I was doing. I haven't seen or heard others referencing this concept, we are the first in my experience. So to hear our Prime Minister refer to this phrase and concept makes me feel we are in a good place and on the right path.
